Red Flag Warning May 16, 2026

SMC Alerts: The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red Flag Warning for the middle part of San Miguel County for gusty winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels, in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Saturday, May 16, 2026. The alert area also includes most of Montrose County. Per San Miguel County Ordinance, open burning is prohibited in areas under Red Flag Warnings while the warnings are in effect. Please do not burn!

* TIMING...From noon to 8 PM MDT Saturday, May 16.
* WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent.
