Red Flag Warning June 6 and 7, 2026

SMC Alerts: The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued two Red Flag Warnings this weekend for all of San Miguel County (and the majority of the Western Slope) due to gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels. The first Red Flag Warning has been issued from noon to 9 PM Saturday, and the second from 10 AM to 10 PM Sunday. Critical fire weather conditions will extend into next week. Please be extremely careful with anything that could start a fire!
* TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, from noon to 9 PM Saturday. For the second Red Flag Warning, from 10 AM to 10 PM Sunday. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Monday morning through Tuesday evening.
* WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...6 to 11 percent.
* IMPACTS...Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning.
