BESS Social Emotional Screener
09/10/24, 9:26 AM
Dear Southmoor Parents/Guardians,
As part of the DPS Safety Plan, all DPS students will be screened using the BASC-3 Behavior and Emotional Screening System (BESS) in order to identify potential behavioral and emotional concerns. Results of this screener will allow us to tailor our school wide social-emotional instruction to meet overall student needs and to provide targeted social-emotional and mental health intervention to students who demonstrate a need for more intensive services.
As parents/guardians, you are invited and encouraged to complete the BESS screener for your student. You will need your student's DPS ID number and birthdate to access the screening at the following link: BESS Parent Link. The current screening window is open now and will be open until October 18, 2024. There will be one more screening period in the spring of 2025. We hope that you will take the opportunity to complete this screener for your student.
Additional information regarding the BESS and how results will be used is included in the links below. Please feel free to reach out to us at 720-424-3930 or via email if you have any questions. We will also be available at Back to School Night on Thursday, 9/12/24, if you would like to connect with us or complete your screener then. Thank you!
