KHC Dance Challenge

02/13/25, 3:20 PM

Hello Southmoor!

On Friday, February 7th, our RRCK’n MOOSE Day was dedicated to kicking off our 2025 Southmoor Kids Heart Challenge (KHC). It was a fun day! One thing we told the students about at the kickoff was that we are going to have our KHC Dance Challenge again this year. Our feature dance for our 2025 KHC is to the song called “I Feel Like Dancing” by Jason Mraz. The challenge to the students is to try this dance out at home with their family members and then, if they’re interested, record a video of them doing the dance with as many family members as possible and then email the video to me at tcrippe@dpsk12.net. The students that turn in a video will earn some extra little KHC prizes. This is totally optional and just a fun way to encourage movement and activity at home as a family. The student and family videos we have received from the past three years of KHC Dance Challenges have been amazing! If you and your students are interested in this KHC Dance Challenge, you can find more information below.

Here’s the link to the dance video:

And here’s the DANCE ONLY without the tutorial part of the video.

(A big shout out to Ms. Haydon, Ms. Henninger, Ms. Robin, and Kindergartner Ximena, for helping with this year’s dance video!)

You can record the dance on your student’s Chromebook or on a phone - whatever works for you. Add your own style and have fun! Once again, my email address is tcrippe@dpsk12.net

Even if you don’t want to make a video, you can still have fun dancing together with your family! I hope your students take me up on this challenge and I look forward to seeing some of your fun dance videos. It would be fun to be able to dance along to some of your videos at our “KHC Celebration” RRCK’n MOOSE Day on Friday, March 7th. If you make a dance video, please try to email it to me by March 5th

Please let me know if you have any questions. Have fun dancin’!!
