Final Report | June Vaccination Numbers & White Paper Now Published
10/26/25, 6:24 PM
Hola a todas y todos,
I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits.
As my formal reporting with Colorado Access comes to a close, I write with immense pride—and an unwavering sense of purpose—to share two major milestones: our final June vaccination numbers, and the official publication of our white paper on immunization equity.
⸻Final June Report – Vaccine Outreach & Impact
Children:
• Vaccine doses administered: 169
• Children vaccinated: 98
• Medicaid coverage: 100%
Adults:
• Vaccine doses administered: 220
• Adults vaccinated: 93
• Uninsured adults: 0%
On Vaccine Sunday at Ascension Catholic Church, we reached 2,150 community members with vaccine education. This powerful event took place on Father’s Day, a sacred time for many families—and a reminder of this truth: we must show up when our community is available, not when it’s convenient for us.
Public health doesn’t pause for holidays. We don’t wait for people to come to us—we go to them, in their trusted spaces, in their language, on their time. This isn’t just a tactic—it’s a core value.
Meeting people where they are is not optional. It’s the only way forward.
⸻White Paper Publication Announcement
I’m thrilled to announce the publication of our white paper:
“White Paper | Access to School-Entry Immunizations in Colorado”
It has been accepted by the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease & Reports and is now available open access for global readers—researchers, practitioners, and community leaders alike:Read the White Paper (https://www.

⸻Executive Summary – Advancing Latino Health Equity
This final report marks two major milestones:
1. The release of a data-informed, culturally grounded analysis of the inequities Latino communities face in accessing routine childhood vaccines.
2. Official recognition from the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF), naming the Latinx Immunization Access Program (LIAP) as a statewide best practice for vaccine equity.
These wins didn’t happen by chance. They are the result of years of relationship-building, advocacy, and a relentless commitment to dignity, trust, and joy in our approach to public health.
⸻Positioning for Broader Impact
Julissa Soto Latino Health Equity Consulting is proud to be at the forefront of a movement that’s:
• Shaping Colorado policy in collaboration with HCPF and Colorado Access
• Serving as a national model for community-based vaccine equity
• Inspiring international replication of culturally rooted, people-first public health strategies
⸻The LIAP Model in Action – Four Phases of Impact
1. Meeting People Where They Are – Vaccines in mercados, nightclubs, tire shops, and restaurants. No gatekeeping. Just access.
2. Celebrating Culture – We bring vaccines to our Posadas, Día de los Niños, and Navidad. Healthcare can—and must—feel like home.
3. Faith-Based Partnerships – Vaccine Sundays blend faith and health. Our churches are our health hubs.
4. School-Based Engagement – “One School, One Vaccine at a Time” means music, piñatas, bilingual staff—and families feeling seen and respected.
⸻Sustaining the Work Beyond the Contract
Though our formal contract with Colorado Access has concluded, the movement continues—and it’s stronger than ever:
• Community Cultural Navigators are still guiding families with trust.
• Faith-led Health Committees are still driving local outreach.
• Community Health Fairs are still happening—led by and for the people.
• And we’re proud to launch IHAC (Immigrant Health Access Collaborative), a bold new step in deepening our reach.
This isn’t a program. It’s a legacy. Built on trust, sustained through community, and grounded in cultural pride.
⸻Final Thoughts: Comunidad Primero
This is not the end of our work. It is a continuation of a movement rooted in three simple but radical truths:
• Health equity is a relationship, not a project
• Cultural belonging is not a luxury—it’s a foundation
• Trust is not a strategy—it is the strategy
Thank you for standing with us in this work. Please read and share the white paper widely. It reflects our shared commitment—and charts the path for what comes next.
¡Con fuerza, con dignidad, y siempre con la comunidad primero!Julissa Soto
