Dear SOAR Families, we stand in solidarity in supporting East High School in the aftermath of yesterday's tragedy. 

When something happens in a school community, it affects all of us in schools. We believe that school is a safe and secure place for students, and we know that the events from yesterday have impacted us all.

Because of an overwhelming call from the Denver Public Schools for time to address mental health needs, we have decided to close tomorrow, March 24, 2023, to honor those requests.

The decision was made to focus on supporting one another, and caring for the greater community.  We also understand that for some of us, closing a student's safe place can be impactful. We are part of larger ecosystem of DPS when one hurts we all hurt.  We believe students and families matter first, and to do that, the adults who serve them and partner with them have to be healthy.
