This first month of school, SOAR dancers have been learning and reviewing classroom expectations, systems, and routine movement practices. Our habit target and learning target words included:
🎯 I can demonstrate respect for myself, others, and our environment.
🎯 Safety
🎯 Awareness
🎯 Technique
Students have been demonstrating these through warm ups, team building exercises, and choreographic phrases.
Ask your 2nd-5th grade student to teach you and your family:
- Pass the Clap -
- Where is Sugarpig? -
- What are you doing? -
- ...and then... -
Ask your kindergarten and 1st grade students about:
- Which floor spot is theirs -
- Their warm up routine -
- Fanga -
Next month, we'll continue to demonstrate respect and will dig deeper into our movement practices, shifting our focus to strength and flexibility.
