Family Teacher Home Visit program!

Dear Families,

Our Family Teacher Home Visit program seeks to build strong and positive relationships between the family and the school. These visits are based around the question, what are your hopes and dreams for your child? Research has shown that when school staff work closely with parents and families to achieve shared goals, we create a better chance for students to thrive in school and in their future. Studies show that this program has improved attendance, test scores, classroom behavior, cultural awareness and increased family engagement in schools.  

Home visits are for everyone. We don’t select specific students and we will try our best to visit every family in each classroom that is willing to participate. A typical home visit is about 20 to 30 minutes and the classroom teacher and another staff member will meet with you at your home or a location that feels right for you (park, coffee shop, etc.). We will provide language translation support as needed and visits will be held before 8:30am or after 4:00pm. Your students and other family members are welcome to take part, we encourage it!
