Dear Parents & Guardians:

Starting on Thursday, April 4th 2024 SOAR will be conducting our annual vision and hearing screenings! 

Why is it important to have your child’s vision and hearing screened?

· They are both important for speech, language development, reading, and learning.

· A Vision and Hearing screening can detect if your child needs further testing.

· Even if your child has passed a hearing/vision screening previously, their condition can change.

· Both Hearing & Vision problems can be related to medical problems.

· Hearing/Vision loss is invisible and the child may appear to be not paying attention.

These screenings provide only a snapshot of how your child performs on the day the test was administered and are not a substitute for a complete eye/ear exam by a licensed doctor. 4th grade does not get screened unless there is a referral or an IEP.
