SOAR Attendance

Please read carefully

Dear Families,

Welcome to the 2024/2025 school year! As we begin, we're excited to start the year with a clean slate for attendance. At SOAR, we take student attendance very seriously and encourage everyone to develop strong habits of in every day attendance.

Consistent attendance is crucial for student success. Regular attendance not only helps students stay engaged in their learning but also sets the foundation for a brighter future across all grade levels. Missing too many days can cause students to fall behind academically, and, in some cases, lead to dropping out. Missing 10% or more of the school year—approximately 18 days, or just two days per month—can have a significant impact on a student’s progress. This includes late arrivals and early pickups.

For your child’s academic success, it's important that they arrive on time and stay for all classes. Reporting absences to the school's front office is essential to ensure that any absence is properly recorded and does not negatively impact your child's attendance record. Any students arriving after 7:40 AM will need a parent/guardian to come inside to sign them in.

School Hours:

  • Instruction starts: 7:40 AM

**NOTE**-Students arriving at 7:40 am or after must be signed in by their parent/guardian in the main office of SOAR.

  • Dismissal starts: 2:40 PM
  • Office hours: 7:40 AM- 3:30 PM
  • Please note: Students will not be released for early pick-up after 2:15 PM. Office will re-open from 2:40 PM to 3:30 PM.
