DPS School's Funding

Dear SOAR Community,

This November, the Denver Public Schools Board of Education will seek voter approval of a bond package to increase funding for our DPS schools.
The bond package proposal recommendations were put together by volunteers. For more information on the community-centric planning process and to review meeting presentations, please visit the 2024 CPAC general information page.

The last bond measure passed in 2020, and it provided our district essential funding for school improvements. For more information visit our 2020 bond projects and programs page.

What is included in the 2024 bond proposal for my school?
The $975 million bond proposal includes the following investments for your school:

● Technology: Additional/upgraded student devices, at-home internet, network and infrastructure, etc.
● Safety: Upgraded safety measures such as expanded security cameras, crisis communications, and access control systems.
● Athletics: 21st century upgrades and regional athletic facility upgrade.

What are the costs associated with these proposals?
If approved, the bond proposal will require an increase in the district’s bond debt, but it will not increase property taxes.

Dr. Alex Marrero, Superintendent
