Dear SOAR Families,

The recent tragedies’ have brought a need to recalibrate our school safety protocols.

Please see below important updates and contact our office staff with questions at (720) 287-5100.

1. A School Resource Office (SRO) will be assigned to the Evie Dennis Campus. An SRO is an armed Denver Police Department police officer.
2. Parents will not easily be buzzed into the school. School office personnel will use the intercom to communicate. This is in effort to only allow SOAR families access; as opposed to people looking for other school buildings or the campus health clinic.
   1. DO NOT bring additional adults with you into the building
   2. DO NOT leave the office area where the gray chairs are stationed for sitting
   3. Carefully follow specially designed protocols for school events that will be announced before the event, i.e. 5th Grade Continuation, Field Day, etc.
3. At 9 AM all students must be walked into the office and signed-in by an adult. Dropping of children at the curb when they are late is no longer permitted.

We appreciate your cooperation with these changes. The times we live in require us to make every effort to provide our students with a safe, secure learning environment at SOAR and on the Evie Dennis Campus.
