Dear SOAR Families,

With just two weeks left until the start of the school year, we are here to share some helpful tips!

It is important to start practicing your routines now! Two weeks out is a great time to decrease stress when school starts and build routines with your child(ren)! Talking about the changes that will occur early will help decrease feelings of anxiety and increase excitement and confidence!

1) Discuss or write down with your children what your morning and evening routines will be.

2) Start setting your morning alarms now to get used to waking up earlier.

3) Elementary age students should be going to bed between 8-9pm, research shows students need about 9-12 hours of sleep each night.

4) Increase their independence, have your child fill their own water bottles each night to be ready for the morning.

5) Have your child set out their clothes the night before.

6) Read 20 minutes a day with your child!

SOAR staff cannot wait to see you all so soon!
